The Rules Of “Broken Truths”
These are the rules and regulations of “Broken Truths”, most of which are plain common sense. In joining “Broken Truths”, you have agreed to follow all of the Rules at all times, even if they seem really strict. Before you post your application and start role playing here, you should know that it is vital that you follow these rules, for if you do not, the administrators will be on your case, and we do not like to punish.
Alas, the rules:
[Yesh, long…]
OOC Rules;;
1.) Firstly, please do NOT make an account here unless you plan to be role playing long-term, which is common sense. You just do not join, RP for a few days or not even that, and just leave. How rude. We will understand if you leave for a long period of time, just notify everyone that you will be leaving, or just simply post your schedule or online time. For your information, URL’s of sites are easily forgotten and/or lost, so please favorite this site.
2.) When you join do not have underscores in the username for it does not work in the first place and don’t have usernames like _killerz_spree_. You can just be called Killerz it is simple as that. Or dogpuppy15373, don't do that, for there is not even a dogpuppy1.
3.) Users may have only ONE account. Not that hard, and multiple accounts seems illogical as you have absolutely NO character limits what-so-ever.
4.) Application wise, please try to be creative with names, we don't want a whole pride of Dashs or Killers running about; originality is essential and most desired. It is very easy to be original; for an example, what I do is use Native American names, like my feline is not named Earth, but Bhuvana, which means Earth in Native American. You must have a picture of your feline in your application somewhere, or it might not be accepted, unless you have an extremely detailed description that paints a perfect picture. You don’t have to do anything fancy with that as it is simple as going to Google and typing in “Ocelot"; a plain picture will do just fine. If you really can't find one, and you can't type a half decent description, PM me and I will assist you in finding one.
5.) Cursing and bad language is not accepted in either IC or OOC, no exceptions. Appropriate insults are allowed in IC ONLY!
6.) Thievery, stealing, and plagiarism, NO-NO! If anyone catches or spots someone using anothers ideas, histories, characters, etc., without permission, they will be banned until the problem is somehow resolved by whatever means. You have been warned.
7.) The CBox, is for fun quick chats. (We don't bite, much.) But, if you advertise another site or bother our members you will be flagged for suspension or deletion, unless you have been asked and the staff member gives you the OK(the only exception is when you link your name). Please, don't complain about your life in the CBox. We can't do anything about it. That’s too bad, go talk to a family member not us. If suicidal you need a doctor. If you must complain, take it to the Advice board.
8.) Do. Not. Spam (Short, Pointless, Annoying Messages). Anyone’s. PM’s.
This will result in members leaving and reps fallen. Please don't constantly remind your contact to answer or look at his/hers PM’s. It's annoying and don't tell them what to do. This also means no Spamming the CBox; it is a CHAT BOX, so alas, common sense applied, no spammeh.
9.) For staff: If you're an admin, golbal mod, or mod, do not abuse your powers to tear up the site, harass other members, or boast about your powers. It is annoying. Use your powers to help the site not rend it up; RAWR!
IC Rules;;
1.) We will try to not be pushy so at least five sentences MINIMUM. I mean, there is a lot more to type but that is the minimum per paragraph; feel free to go over that! =D If someone posts bigger than you, try to match up to them, but it is alright if you can not 'cause we all understand Writer's Block. And please no pointless two word sentences. Those annoy me more then one line posts. 5 decent sentences! We do understand, however, that occasionally this won't be possible. But don't let me, or any staff, catch you slacking constantly.
2.) No GM; God-Moding- being powerful, as if acting indestructible or almost acting like a god, demigod, etc. This will not be tolerated and will not be accepted on “Broken Truths”.
3.) No PP; Power-Playing- taking control of another's character or auto-hitting. This will not be tollerated unless both role players have come to a reason that it is needed or they have given permission. Do not do it on your own free will. For a first offense, we will let it slide. Your character can not be perfect in anyway, shape, or form. No charrie dodges every attack, or makes contact every attack.
4.) Please use common English, not chat speak. No lol's, jks, or w/e's. Also, puncuation and capital letters people! This includes making i an I.
5.) Any color is acceptable when you post, as long as it is easy to see. Thoughts should be in italic and their speech should be in bold and with quotations such as this, “” . This makes the posts easier to read, and it looks nicer and more organized.
6.) Please, we cannot stress this enough, spell check your posts before you post them. Nobody wants to role play with somebody whose posts are almost unreadable with spelling and grammar errors. Although a spell check will pick up most errors, some errors can only be picked up by you. We highly recommend that you read over you posts and fix any errors before you post it. I mean, typos are fine for no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, but it does get annoying. ^^
7.) In “Broken Faiths” there is no particular posting order what-so-ever, and you may choose to post any time you wish though once everyone else in the role play has posted at least once since you last did, it is time for you to post! Otherwise, you will be holding everyone else up, and that isn’t good. You may put in OOC under your last post something along the lines of “Go on without me.” or the sort, just to let us know.
8.) Before you begin role playing your character must be accepted by any of the staff. If they give you an okay, you may Role Play. How will you know your character has been accepted? First off, the topic will be moved from the "Characters" main-board to the "Accepted" sub-board. Second, a staff member will post in your thread telling you officially that your character has been accepted. If your character is moved to the unapproved sub-board, we will list what needs to be corrected. Once those are corrected, PM the staff member whom unapproved your character. He/she will then either accept, or list more to fix. The process will continue until your charrie is moved to "Approved" with the word Accepted in it.
9.) To make things more on the organized side, we suggest that if your character made enemies or friend in this role play that you simply add them in their profile alright? You do not have to do this, but it will make things easier.
10.) This is a realistic feline role playing site meaning that your character may NOT have any special powers or abilities; such as the ability to fly, read other felines feelings and/or minds or break trees with one paw. Come on people.... This rule also applies to your feline’s appearance meaning those wings; fluffy or non, unusual colors such as neon green and hot pink are not allowed in “Broken Truths". Also, felines may have bizarre eye color, but please not pink or something odd. A green purple hue is fine, seems a little on the natural side if you catch my drift.
11.) Mating. It is allowed on “Broken Truths”, in the spring and summer; cubs may be born roughly thirty days later. Mating is only allowed if both the female and male feline's users agree to, unless it is Force Breeding, which is also allowed, but discouraged. Users must bred with a male x female combo, none of this male x male stuff, for it is unlikely a feline would do such a thing. It does happen on occasions, but, for the most part, it is not so. Also, we would prefer that you ask permission of the female’s role player before you force-breed their character even though it IS force-bred, some people would like a warning (Do the warning in either PM and/or OOC). However, we don’t want any, “Some name force-bred my character without my permission! Wahhh! Boo-hoo! Meanie!!” complaints of any sort, and it is not that big of a deal for the female may decide if she has cubs or not. The cubs for regular breeding range form 4-6 as when force-bred form 1-3 and it is force-breeding, after all, so no complaints. Also, graphic breeding is prohibited. Just simply state that the male mounted and dismounted or just state that they simply, “Mated.” When your characters do breed, post in "The Stork" to have a staff member give you the stats on your cubs.
12.) Fights may be as graphic as you like. Be creative and have fun, but if one asks for you to dim down, please listen and comply with their request. If you want a character to die, post that they can die. Ask if you may critically injure another RP character to the point of death, or kill. You will never know what might be buzzing around in another’s mind.
13.) No god-moding or power-playing may be employed while role-playing a hunt, such as “Thunder's powerful bite brought the prey down all by himself.” Umm, no, or for another example, your prey animal must die at some point and may occasionally lash out at or wound a feline, which is what they really do out in the wild terrain. There must be at least two or three felines to bring down a large prey animal(usually the lions are the group hunters; and with tigers, they are able to take down prey a bit larger then the other species). No single feline, regardless of how strong or talented they are, can bring down large Moose by themselves, unless it is wounded, giving birth, or a calf. Even with two or three felines, it is not a sure thing. The more felines that participate in the hunt, their hunting power, the condition of the prey animal, and weather, all contribute to how well the hunt goes. There is no way three inexperienced felines can bring down a large, healthy prey animal. Four experienced hunters and a sickly animal have a much higher success-rate. You get it? Good.
14.) If a prideland has not been claimed then feel free to try to claim it as your own. Your feline can not walk onto the land and automatically be leader. You must roleplay your male marking the territory, etc. before your male becomes alpha of that land. Once your cat is alpha, you may PM an admin to ask them to change the name of your Pride from "Northern Pride" to something a bit more personal to your cat. =)
15.) The Central lands are for all of y’all lone felines still searching for a group, or simply enjoy being alone...or those that are part of a small group with no set lands. If the feline enters the pride lands, any of the forums under North, East, South, or West, they can be attacked or chased out. If the feline wants to join the pride, they go to the boarders and ask for permission. They may be granted permission by any high ranking pride member, but the alpha is most likely.
16.) This is a liquid time site. This means you may be in more then one thread with the same charrie at a time. This just makes things more fun and free, however be careful. If your charrie is in EVERY thread, it gets very confusing for all of us.
Finally! You read it all? Good boy/girl.
Now since you read all this load of rules, you now know the do's and don't's of “Broken Truths”.
You may now click the "Application" thread in the "Characters" board and you may start.
