Dont' hesitate; There's no escape From secrets on the inside Blood, slick and foaming, dribbled from her parted jaws. Her dirty pelt seemed to be wet with it, this red substance which appeared to be dripping from every scar on her spotted pelt. In truth the red liquid poured from a single wound, a gash right between the leopardess' shoulder blades. Huge as she was, she was not big enough to protect herself from the lion who was not going to take no for an answer. Leopards are only above Cheetah's in the feline ranking system. They could not stand up against Lions, and when they tried they ended up just as she had, bleeding and humiliated. Flame eys glowing, ilyich slipped backwards in time, her memories of that moment where spattered with a sickening haze.
Beautiful pain, she had felt it arching up her back. Wonderful sickening agony. It had been hers for an instant, and she had been overtakin by it. Like a user clutching his needle, Ilyich stood shaking her long body trembling with after shocks. I am a disgusting creature. The thought didn't do much to side track her brain from relishing in the sting whispering through her nerve endings. Oh the lust it arose! Oh the fealings of utter perfection it brought about. She wanted it, this pain that laced her mind, she needed it. It was perfection, and she was its host. Who could deny perfection? Not her, never her.
Dark tawny pelt half glowing in the fading sun, Ilyich stood. Her thick long legs shook with wonder. She suddenly felt odd, hovering in her drug like haze. She was large, no huge, for a leopard. For a female leopard she was gargantuin. She stuck out like a white candle in a coal mine. And with that thought, she began to creep toward cover. Standing where she had been, in a clearing surrounded by tall heat blanched grass, she had a clear root to hiding. Her mind side tracked her, caught her in its grips as pain echoed through her body with her first step. The groan that came out of her would sound, to another, as a groan of pain. To her mind it was one of utter pleasure.
She was sick, so very sick. Her heart knew that, but her brain over rode it in the same moment. Need held its sway above clarity. She was addicted and her drug was seering agony. She was a masochist of the worst kind. Her need arose from a need of control, but now it burned from a need to remove the numbness. Like novicane it clung to her shoulders, adn the only way to remove it was to wash it away with flowing rust. Blood was her savior, and infection her god. What could be done to save one so lost? Nothing. A hyena could tear her to pieces here and now and she would not sing her death cry. She would howl her pleasure to the sky.
There is nothing better than death, for death cloaks everything. And perhapse this is what her masochistic behavior was truly arising from, her want for that final sleep. All animals in some part of their minds long to die. For her it was a secret want, just like others. But to her it was as real as the sun. She could feel it with each breath, somthing tugging in her brain. What if I didn't breath in? it was an interesting theory. But she was to cowardly to truly go through with it. To fearful of what may happen to her. And so she remains on this side of the gate, watching and waiting. Waiting for the blood to finish oozing off her shoulders, so she could rip the wound wide once again.

EB This was taking forever. The tiger I had helped chase off was not J, and now I had no leads to follow. Again. I had considered returning to the Murder Ape home, but there was a couple reasons why I had ruled that out. 1) I risked being captured and being a pet again. 2) J might not be there anymore, whether he had escaped, or something else had happened. 3) I had no idea how to get back.
So here I was, strolling through unchartered territory, looking for a sign of my long lost friend. It was all I could do, and hope for the best. But hoping was hard after the disappointment I received earlier today. At least I had helped that lion family...
These were my thoughts and concerns as I walked through this forest, and all was forgotten and the sound of a groan. I froze, one paw lifted off the ground mid-step and my ears swiveled forward. My eyes darted side to side, looking for signs of the creature who had moaned. It had been a moan of pain, so I did not fear for myself, my worry was of some stranger, and I sensed the upcoming of another heroic event. Two in one day, what a deal.
My eyes could find no sign, so I parted my jaws, panting to taste the air better. That's when I knew someone was in serious trouble. Blood.
"Hey!" I yowled, hoping whoever was hurt would cry out. "Are you okay?" I had no idea who I was talking to, but I was starting to follow the scent as fast as my paws would carry me.
I was in a frenzy of sorts as I ran. My thoughts were whirling, all unclear to me. All I knew was that someone was in trouble and I had to help. I was lucky to be in tip-top shape, my body was small and lithe, and I was a very agile cat. My limbs were strong from miles of travel and hundreds of trees climbed.
Then I saw the huge body of a cat on the ground ahead of me. In the shade I couldn't make out the species, and for a moment my heart froze. Were those the stripes of my tiger friend? J?
I took one more bound and cleared the last few feet to the cat. I almost breathed a sigh of relief, I was here at last, and this wasn't a tiger, so J was crossed off the list of anyone I knew.
I panted heavily as I quickly examined the cat. Leopard. Female. Huge. And hurt. She was bleeding badly, so badly I briefly stopped to wonder what had happened. My mind could only come up with images of Murder Apes, but then I shook my head. I had to help her.
Then I spotted where the bleeding seemed to come from. A large gash ran between her shoulder blades. I gulped, I don't know what to do!
"Are you okay?" I asked again, stupidly. I knew I had yelled that when I was searching for her, but now that I was here to help, I was utterly helpless. And ultimately useless.

Broken from her repreive, Ilyich stiffened. A call sounded rather close to her. Too close for comfort. A small chirp of a voice rang in her ears like the sounds of broken bells. It stole her away from her peacful drunkin haze. And for a heart beat it infuriated her. Long whit tipped tail curling up with distaste, Ilyich turned her broad head prepared for the owner o the voice to rip itself from the flora. She was not, however, prepared for the little thing that tore from the brush. In fact she was rather takin aback, her rippling gaurd hairs falling with suprise. ... Wha?
Blood dripping still down her twitching antsy shoulders, the female strode carfuly to full steps away from the tiny thing before her. She doubted its little paws could injure her in the slightest, and so there was no reason to pick a fight. The only reason to start one was if she thought she could get some good wounds from it,a nd that would not happen here. Ilyich's black ears swiveled toward the little thing, annoyed by its small stature and confounded expresion. Why did it wish to help her? Why did it care? But, why would she even be wondering that?
But she had a facade to keep up, and the mask over her heart snapped into place before she relized it had. A small embarissed smile crept unwillingly to her lips. "Im fine, just a scrape. You can't get away with any less now a days." she answered the little thing, pleased with her deep gravily voice. She didn't sound like human cub. The leopardess stood off from her, tawny limbs twiching wiht the need to sprint away. She doubted she oculd get very far before she passed out. That lion hadn't been playing around, and some where in her conviluted mind she thanked him for it. Blood sickly sweet spilled down her body in a cascade of warmth, and she loved it.
It was sick, she knew, but it was her. The need was as real for that of water and food. She grew physicaly ill if she did not create the waterfalls of red. Ilyich's acidic ginger orbs took in the cat before her. Its small body was thin and well outlined, spotted with rosettes. It's tail was almost as long as it's body and, much like her, it appeared graceful even in total stillness. " I apologize if I scared you, miss...?" she went on, her voice sickeningly even. She was a think of deseption, and rare was hte day when her mask was pulled away. Ilyich waited, watching to see if the feline would state her name or just run away. She had run all the way over here, so why noturn all the way back?

EB Now that I was here and ready to help, I felt myself regretting my choice. As the leopard took a few steps towards me, I felt as if whatever fight she had just been in, she wasn't done yet. The she-cat was more than twice my size, and though she was injured, she could still easily kill me. If I wasn't careful.
But she stopped, and I relaxed. I hadn't even realized I had tensed up so much. "I'm fine, just a scrape. You can't get away with any less now a days."
I nodded, knowing the truth beyond her words. I had had my fair share of scuttles, and more than enough close calls. Kind of like this one I was in now. "I apologize if I scared you, miss...?" She wanted to make introductions. Okay, I could live with that. It probably meant she wasn't interested in eating me. "Elizabeth." I answered almost automatically. Though I hated the fanciness of the name, I still liked to introduce myself formally. "I prefer EB though."As for her apology, I knew where she was coming from, but to me there was no need to say sorry. Of course her being injured scared me. It scared me to death, but there was no way to let that show. It was one thing to be small, it was a whole lot worse to be a frightened, tiny cat. "Eh, I was just concerned that a dead body would attract predators that would prefer fresh meat. AKA, me." I grinned, feeling myself relax even more. "So you know, I couldn't let you die. Not when I'm around."I hoped the leopard would take my humor to heart, and maybe then I could get on my way. Unless, of course, the leopard did actually need help. That cut did look pretty bad. More than just 'a scrape.'[/blockquote]

The leopardess frowned. Her black rimmed ears swiviling forward. She understood most of what came from the little thing's lips, but some words where beyond her... weak english. AKA...? German bred and German raised, the mill cub didn't exactly know how to point out her problem, and so she skipped over it. In her mind's eye she was begining to dislike this cat less. Her voice didn't seem neer as hidiouse now. Than again, Ilyich had always placed a persons looks and their personality in one quadrent. Rolling her wide hazel orbs.
" Than it is good to meet you, EB" the girl murmured, her voice weaker now that she wasn't as intent on scaring this little thing - EB- off. Blinking down at the little spotted cat, Ilyich puffed out her chest. It had been a long time sence she had been able to speek her native language and she spoke with pride now. "Gute Abend, es ist wirklich ein Vergnügen, Sie kennenzulernen. Der Name ist Ilyich Cenin" her voice wrapped instantly over the gutteral language. German fell off her tongue much more easily then this 'English'. " Perhapse I should translate" she mused, relizing that EB may not understand her words.
" Good evening, it is truly a pleasure to meet you." she chuckled, keep up the facade. Its her number one rule. " The name is Ilyich" Her mask gleamed ivory over her onyx heart. Her tongue rolled automaticly over the words, twisting them so that they sounded almost as German as her first words. "Ah! I do apologize" she continued, brushing her accent away with a sweeping feather. The leopard blinked down at Eb. " My accent can be a bit over powering at times" she laughed, talk. Talking always keeps up her facade better.
Sitting carfuly, Ilyich curled her ringed tail over her paws. Smiling brightly, disturbingly blisfuly down at Eb, Ilyich blinked. She must look odd, sitting here dripping blood. No not just dripping, she was spattered with it. It ran down her back and slipped between the dtrands of her pelt... Distracted her mind began to fall into that drug high once again. Shuddering hard to remove thoes threads from her skull, Ilyich returned her eyes to EB. She only heard the last bit of what the little girl said. And what she heard made her flinch. "Could have easily just let me die" she muttered harshly, not intending Elizabeth to hear. Twisting her down cast face back into a grin, the leopardess shrugged her stinging shoulders relishing for a moment in the pleasure of it. " Thank you, Eb. But it would take a lot mor ethan this to kill me"
She would know.
