This land and my pride have lived in peace for a long time, but know the peace is coming to an end with the soon to be attack on Zonta. The Zonta will not be alone, me and my pride will help them. Oh how I miss Summer; my dear mate we got seperated when we arrived here, but I could never find her. A large male lion walks in front of me "Blaze get out of my way" I hissed and scratched his side then I smelled blood and Blaze roared. "Ow what was that for" he growled. "That was not for listening I told you to got to Ende not Akando they are the ones we have to worry about! Now go scrat you piece of uselessness" I hissed. Then Blaze shot off. Oh how I miss your blue eyes Summer.

EB The sun beat down hot on my back and I wondered yet again why I had decided to travel through this open prairie. No trees for shade, not even a little bush. I could see a forest ahead though, and my paws were carrying me in a straight line there.
"That was not for listening I told you to got to Ende not Akando they are the ones we have to worry about! Now go scrat you piece of uselessness."
My ears perked in surprise and quick interest. Someone sounded mad, and that could lead to a fight. Those were always exciting and I wouldn't mind digging my claws into something right now. My pace quickened and soon I found myself face to face with another cat. An ocelot, smaller than most cats I met, but still larger than me. I didn't see any other cat he could've been yelling at, but the scent of someone else hung in the air. This ocelot sure had the reputation just to chase off someone with words. It was an interesting concept, but I understood it completely. I was a small cat afterall, if tooth and claw didn't get rid of the enemy, words certainly could. "Hey." I greeted, nodding respectfully. My eyes darted to where I had assumed the other cat had left, but I didn't ask. I could be nosy, but I was never the one to pry for information.[/blockquote]

Oh come now. One second everythings all fine and dandy and the next your padding into a snake pit. HIs head did not reach over the high grass, his sharp brown ears only standing 11 inches form the dirt. He felt somthing fly past him adn barley with held the terrified yip. His rounded olive eyes flashed back and forth as he crouched waiting for what ever it was to come circaling back and eat him. The medic shuddered, fur lifting along his shoulders.
Today just got better and better. The second he stood and began to walk again words pooled into his large spiked ears. Deran flenched back. But there was no point in hiding now, he would be too close and had relized to late that there where other animals here. His slender body had not exactly been moving as soundlessly as he would have liked. So whimpering slightly the small animal slipped from the grass to find himself facing a rather robust oceolt and a small cat of whom's species he could not name. The man's scared shoulders lifted and came together as he lowered his head.
Pulling in a deep breath the ex lab animal fought back his cowardise with a brave smile. It was so much easier to hide behind a smile. Sometimes it was real, other times (such as now) he simply used it to get away as quickly as possable. "Hello?" he mewed sheepishly.

"Ah what have we hear" I ask. This was unusual in thing to see here. "Hi I am Iytche welcome to my pride the Eznox Pride" I said. I am glad to see another cat I have been bored for sometime. Why did this cat look so scared. I dont look scary do I?

The man shrank back just a little bit. His eyes narrowing slightly. This ocelot was an alpha..? How odd. How could an ocelot fight for control over a territory? Did he have some sort of secret power? No no, stupid Deran! Thats not possible. Or was it? Slightly worried now, the male ferfuly set a paw forward to pad a tiny bit closer. A small smile appeared as his mask, and his tail curled up over his bakc in warm greeting. "I apologize for my behavior then, Iytche. You never know whos who now a days" And I still dont know who you are. he thought blackly.
Brown speckled shoulders rollign he steped a bit closer, olive eyes wandering over to the smaller cat. How had she managed to live all this time? Deran allowed his ears to come forward,a dn let all outward sign of his cowardis to die. "May I sit here?" he mewed softlly to the smaller cat, slightly releaved to find he was not the only one of eating size around here. his tail curled behind him as he stood beside her. Mind twitching slightly, he wondered if she would let him. It seemed the smaller you were the more tempermental you got.

"So what is you name?" I ask wanting to know more about him. "Where do you come from? This is a dangerous place to be many animal are hungry but this pride protect each other so we have no need to worry right now."

EB I stood and watched the interactions with mild interest. The ocelot had a pride, though I found that hard to believe.Whether he did or not, I was not here to join one, and would leave when I wanted. The other new arrival interested me slightly more. He was a little larger than me, but not by much. I couldn't indentify his species, which was the only thing on my mind.
"May I sit here?"
At last I was directly addressed, and my tail flicked in annoyance. "Why ask me? It's his land." I lifted my head towards the ocelot, Iytche. The pride alpha politely told the other cat he could sit where he wished, and I felt a flash of guilt for sounding rude. But that was me, always speaking without thinking. The guilt quickly passed, like most of my emotions. As the conversation continued, I listened intently, deciding I would try to hold my tongue and speak when spoken to. It was hard, but I was managing for now.[/blockquote]

Deran twisted his brown striped head to blink ploeitly down at the slightly smaller she-cat. His sharp ears swivled slightly, twitching backward. Why did it seem every cat he ran into was rude right up to its whiskers? Seemed like a horrid way to bring up a child. Then again he had been born in his home land, not having to deal with white coats or their lightning sticks ruining his education. Deran shrugged slightly. Having decided he would not sit here, the man inched a few feet away and sat there. Just because he was a spiteful little rat.
Ears twitching slightly, he answered in his usual quiet fake calm tones. "My name is Dearn, and I come from a human place a ways north of here." He tilted his head, thinking of a particularly anoyed raven that had flittered around his head for days after his escape of the white coat's lab. "Washington, I belive it was called. At least thats what a friend of mine told me" He shuffled his paws anxiously underneath him, throwing a glance at the speckled female. "May I ask your name, Ma'am?" he mewed polietly, turning to look her full on. Olive eyes glinting with a mix of worry and interest. She had done little but watch and say one sentence, and he wanted to hear more.

EB A wave of frustration crashed over me when the cat said nothing and just sat even further away from me. That just hurt. That he'd say nothing back, not even fight my rudeness. It made me feel like a jerk and now I just felt bad. Downright bad.
I knew I was a hard cat to understand, and I knew that now I was going to attempt to be nice, it'd confuse the poor cats around me. But at least I'd feel better about myself. So I sat quietly and listened to the cat, Deran, tell a smite about himself. I had never heard of Washington, but the way he talked about it made it seem far away.
"May I ask your name, Ma'am?"
I offered a small smile, "I'm Elizabeth, but call me EB. It's nice to meet you, Deran. And you, Iytche." I hoped I had pronounced the ocelot's name right, but it didn't bother me long. My curiousity to figure out Deran's species was becoming overwhelming. "I don't mind to sound rude, Deran, but what are you?"There. I'd done it again, my question not coming out as politely as I'd hope. I'd sure have to watch my tongue from now on. I hoped Deran wouldn't be too offended. I didn't even try to let myself hope he'd be amused. I had only known a few cats who enjoyed my bluntness.[/blockquote]

As i listen to the newcomer talk a question comes to my mind "It is good to met you both but I have a question why are you to join my pride?" I ask. "You know these are dark time for my pride now that Zonta Pride is threated they will need all the help they can get....." I growl quitely. As I lay thinking and do nothing but stare and the two new cats...

He offered a quiet smile in acceptance of the girl's name. Seeing her tiny form he could not think of her as 'woman' it jsut seemed odd. But then he was a bit of a midget as well. And despite any of Eb's qualms he felt amusment bubble up in his chest. A gruff laugh shot passed his teeth. Few animals knew what he was, or even what to call him. Someoen had even had the odacity to call him a house pet at one time. He found the small speckled feline's blunt question refreshing. So many cats skipped around the bush to hide their meanings- or to just be polite. He should know he was one of the worst offenders.
"I am an odd species from an island far out in deep water called 'indonesia' its not an island persay- considering how big it is. But I never found a mainland...so?" He shrugged, thinking back with a warming spirit of the thick jungle he had once paced through. What beauty, what serial beauty. "My mother told me when I was very young that I was an Irimote. But I do not know weither that is exact. I was seperated eairly..." He shut his jaws then, not wanting to sound nostolgic. He missed his old home. But if returning to thoes memories brought back pictures of the white coats... He would rather live in the present and dream of the future. The past was a crumpled pile of ash to be blown about by the wind- adn that was it.
Turning to gaze at the ocelot, whos name he had not remembered after uttering it the first time, Deran felt his ears snap back agaisnt his skull. Join? WHo ever said anything about joining!? His brown fur fluffed at electric levels along his spine. Deran had never been a brave one, and his cowardise glowed in his wide olive orbs. Careful to drop his fear the man stood slowly. "I-I am sorry....Iytche, but Im no pride cat" He shook his head in infasis. Suddenly worried about what the ocelot would do once he processed the words, Deran let his ringed tail hit dirt. "I am a medic, a healer though...? This fight that you speak of... The wounded, the wounded can come to me. Either side, its not my buisness to judge. But I will help" Sudden bravery crawled under his words.
He knew pain and suffering. The agony of infection, adn he owuld not allow even the evil to cringe in their agony. It was not the doctors job to pick and choose his patients. He went where he was needed, and in Deran's case, he then left. Turning slightly, the small spotted tom cat inched towards cover. "You can tell them that, tell them all. But for now until I see the Corvid... I will say goodbye" In a fearful hurry now the herbalist padded towards the grasses. He ahd no clue how the Ocelot would react to his proclomation, but he had an odd idea that he didn't want to be around when he got mad about it. If he mad it to cover would be a diffrent story...
ooc:// Feel free to have Iytche leap at Deran or pin him. You have my permition to pin him as long as Iytche doesn't do anything more then claw him.

EB At Iytche's words all I could do was blink. What? I was joining his pride? Since when? Maybe he had just assumed we were here to join him. Well, I'd set him straight.
My eyes narrowed darkly as a spew of firey words began to form. Who was he to think that we were just suddenly joining his pride? Huh?
"I am an odd species from an island..."
Huh?I had nearly forgotten my previous question about Deran's species in my state of brewing anger. Mentally I shook my frustration away and listened as intently as I could to what Deran had to say. It was as if he had started talking to distract me from unnecessary madness. My hot feelings dimmed, and I was entranced by Deran's story. Indonesia? I wished I knew where I came from. All I remember it being was an island, like Deran's. Little did I know my island was on the other side of the world, off the coast of Peru. An Iriomote. I had never heard of one before, and was about to say so, but then a thoughtful look crossed Deran's face, immediately followed by one of worry. "I-I am sorry....Iytche, but I'm no pride cat." Oh, that. What had made me so angry had quite the opposite effect on Deran. He looked rather scared that Iytche would react badly to that statement. This made my anger rise again, towards Iytche. He had no business forcing cats into his pride. Some like me would refuse, but other poor cats like Deran would be too scared to fight it. I had to fight this one for Deran. "I am a medic, a healer though...? This fight that you speak of... The wounded, the wounded can come to me. Either side, it's not my business to judge. But I will help." A healer? I had heard rumors of them, but never thought such a thing existed. What cat lived to heal? Heal others, more specifically? It was unheard of, cats normally took care of themselves. This healing business sounded an awful lot like something humans did. My eyes narrowed, but I said nothing. It was weird, but if Deran really was a healer, he could be a help. Some cats died because they didn't know how to treat their wounds, and this up-coming battle Iytche spoke of would definately have injured cats. Was that why Iytche was trying to rope us in to his pride? So he'd have more help? A new wave of anger threatened to rise, but I tried to be logical. Why would he need help? Maybe his pride was small and weak. Wait, hadn't he said he was helping another pride? Well, an allied pride was a good one to join, not that I was looking. ..."But for now until I see the Corvid... I will say goodbye." Deran was slipping off and I had completely missed what was happening. A sudden panic took over, though I had no clue why I didn't want Deran to leave. Without knowing it, I was suddenly off my paws, flying through the air towards Deran. I hadn't even registered that I leapt. I landed heavily (as I could) on the Iriomote's shoulders, pinning him to the ground. "Wait. What?" I asked, I was so confused. Why was he leaving? I thought he was helping. Obviously I could use some better listening skills and not have ADD, but I couldn't let Deran leave. Not yet. "What's the Corvid?"I got off his shoulders, stepping away to give him room to breathe. I hadn't really meant to invade his personal space. And with a sting of guilt, I remembered he was a healer. Did he even have fighting skills? I bit my lip nervously, hoping that I wouldn't get a good cuff of the ears, even though I knew I deserved it.[/blockquote]

Paws, weight, terror. And then his face was pressed into the dirt. Letting out a horrafied shriek the man simply went limp. He couldn't fight. At all. He would be rent to shreds, even by this simple little she-cat. He only knew how to swipe with a random fore-paw, and even that was weak. HE could run, and thats what he normaly did. Deran knew he was a coward, adn felt no reason to test himself. Limp on the ground he listened in silent terror to the speckled feline's words. But they were nothing that he expected. He had been prepaired to ehar death threats and demands. but no, a simple question rolled into his ears. "C-Corvids?" he gagged, twitching when Eb pulled back.
The brown cat scrabled to his paws, turning to train a wide eyed stare on Elizabeth as she had first called herself. Why had she given that name first if she wanted to be called 'Eb'? Taking in a low shallow breath the man let his olive eyes rest on the smaller cat's face. "T-the Corvid are carion birds... Ravens, crows, black birds, magpies. The death birds." he spoke with a confused hitch. Why had she jumped him? Curiosity? That thought relaxed him slightly. He liked curiosity. It was a trait so few possessed now a days. Relazing his tense muscles Deran let his green gaze warm just a bit. "They... they call themselves 'Corvid'." he added slowly, flicking his ears towards the alpha ocelot.
He still hadn't reseaved his judgment.
