Guilt and Suicide (AW)

Lapara
The woods spread around her. Takoda She whispered in her head. Where are you?. She couldn't find her son or the lion that wanted to take care of her. Dark shadows from the dappled light hid her as she pawed her way through the thick bush. Where was she? Why couldn't she find her way? Laela was somewhere behind her. The horrifying eye-watering stench ahead was enough to make her stop in her tracks. As she whispered to Laela to stay hidden in the plants and moved forward in her path the terror grew inside her. The first scent was of Takoda, and then evidence of a fight. Then blood. Then. Oh Dio... She couldn't think. Ahead of her was a large mass of fur and blood. A few tuffs of the pelt was still golden and the smell of Takoda was So strong that it had to be coming from that. But. It couldn't be him. It couldn't be. She turned the dead lion over and saw his face. The weight came crashing onto Lapara. He was dead, and she loved him. She let out a piercing scream of mortal agony and broke into sobbing. Lying down next to him, she licked his pelt until it was golden again, and put her head on his belly.. Embracing him for the first and last time.

Solu
A scream. Too many of these had been in her life lately. They made her crazy. So much pain was saturated into these sounds that they caused her pain herself. Every time she ate she had to hear one of these screams. The difference between this scream and all the ones she had caused was that this was caused by the breaking of the heart and mind, whereas the others were the pain of flesh and blood. She knew it was probably another Folami that was crueler that was ripping apart the cubs or mate of a lion, but she had to make this screaming stop. Running through the forest, she arrived in front of a lioness lying on a lion. Her heart went out to this suffering lioness, and she decided to keep this quick and painless. Approaching the cat she was surprised as she spoke, "You killed him didn't you? Why did you miss me? You could have gotten me in the same go. I wouldn't have to go through this now.". Solu cursed. How had she been heard? This cat had sharp ears. Then she felt the guilt that her kind could have caused this lioness so much pain. It was obviously a Folami kill. Then the lioness got up, licked her loved one's ear one time and turned to face Solu. "Well now's your chance. Please take my life." The she-wolf hesitated for a moment, caught off guard, and the lioness saw that. "I'm begging you.". Let the sorry and guilt run through her visible emotions and stay there. She walked forward quickly and bit this suicidal cat right in the neck, in a place that would kill her painlessly. "I'm so sorry." She whispered in the dying female's ear. When the female was dead, she put the two next to each other, leaving them to give their energy back to the forest, and walked away.

Laela
Mom? Where was she going? There was a really bad smell in the air. Mom told her to stay there so she did, for a while. Then she heard a bloodcurdling scream and she ran. Soon she felt sleepy. She couldn't... stay... awake. Climbing up to the first branch of a tree, she fell asleep, where the nightmares were waiting for her and a new one added to the collection.

Holitorn
He had woke up to find Takoda missing. Taraji had said that he had gone out as the sun rose to find a cure. The young male and his brother had gone one way while Taraji another to find the older male, as it had been several hours since Takoda had left. He knew that the piercing scream had come from his mom and he ran as fast as he could, only to find the bodies of Takoda and his mother laying side by side with similar bite marks in their pelts. The last things he had said to her were in anger. He would regret that for the rest of his life and he knew it. Where was Laela. She was asleep, he could tell that, but where, and why? Hitting him like a dagger, he took a sharp intake of breath, he realized that his mother was dead. Actually realized it. "Mom..."

Jasninon
As Holitorn ran ahead, he followed, having heard the terrible scream too. When he got to the scene of the crime though, he felt like smiling. A job that he had been planning to do himself had been done for him. Of course he had to act shocked and horrified. He dropped his jaw open a little and let his eyes release an emotion of shock. "What the hell happened here?" He said pretend thought out-loud. "How am I supposed to know stupid?" Holitorn snapped back. Now He really was shocked. He didn't think of Holitorn capable of snapping. He must be really angry. "Where's Laela? LAELA!" He asked then shouted.

Denerbe
A call for a mother, a scream of sorrow, a sad remorse. It was all twisted into a single statement, weaving like fluid through my calculating brain. All voices were female, and the fresh blood was as well. Old blood lingered, belonging to one of male origin. All lion, except one who was Folami. I'd stay hidden from the stranger of my breed, for I did not know any others. I'd never been part of the pack, and the chains the clanked quietly around my front paws showed I was not even supposed to be part of the wild.

A new voice rose, two males now. They remorsed over the fallen female, pain in one of their wails. He called for a Laela, and it was then I moved. Laela was the younger sister, I read by scent. Both male cubs and the girl were the children of the fallen lioness. I couldn't see, but scent told it all. No sympathy came over me, but neither did a bloodfull lust. My being was simply there to take up space, not interact emotionally. I'd gather the female, not out of kindness or instinct, but simply to show I could.

Fluid grace, my glowing yellow orbs lead me to the sight of the slumbering lioness cub. She lay not even higher then my head, so I grabbed her scruff with such gentle affection, one could deem me kind. But I was not, I was simply stealth. The silence of my pawsteps, and softness of my grip would keep me from waking this cub, depsite the massive amounts of power laying in the junction of my jaws. I turned, not even having the cub sway a centermeter. If I had a heart to share, I'd be a fine mother. But I lacked such urges to love, the hormones being replaced by death bound instinct. One of the many mistakes the Murder Apes made with the likes of me.

"Looking for this?" I appeared behind the two males, placing the cub gently between my paws before uttering the words softly. My tone held menace, and a deep lust. I wanted to devour the decaying flesh of the fallen, but I had no hunger to satisfy. Though my claw was deadly, I worked for mere survival, not pleasure. Why hunt and eat when my body did not desire as such? That was the soul reason all three cubs were still standing tall, rather than piled in heaps of blood around me. If they were lucky, this would be merely a cold hearted teasing fest, but one never knew when my hunger would peak. Once hunger suggested itself, I drove into hunting mode. And then no one was safe.

"You should keep better watch over your bundles." Again my voice held a cold laugh, deadly intentions. My shere size would crush these beasts, and they had no way of knowing whether I would rush at them or not. My eyes held desire, even when I had none. My stance spoke death, even when I deemed them to live. My voice told stories of blood, even when no blood was to be spilled. As far as these lions knew, they could pray to Dio and ask for their final wishes now, because death was about to swallow.

I lifted a fanged paw and placed it nimbly upon the small lioness spine, running my paw adoringly down her sleeping back. I kept my claws positioned upwards, so as not to pierce her soft flesh and wake her. The movement was my form of reasurring petting, though I cared not about the sanity of those around me. The action was a tease, showing my power over her to these two brothers. In one movement, I'd have her crushed, stabbed, or a bit of both. A purr passed my maw as I spoke further, glowing eyes smiling with my maw. "Wouldn't want anything to happen to dearest Laela, right?" With that, I clicked my claws down softly. It was a gentle movement, not to stab but merely poke the beast awake. My leg was kept tensed, grip strong, Laela would not be scurrying over to her brothers for comfort, she'd stay in my hold until my fun was done.

Holitorn
Coming out of his shock, the cub started looking around his mother and Takoda for any sign of Laela. A scent, a trail of paw prints. Anything. Then he felt another's presence. He turned around, and there was Laela. Dangling from the jaws of a giant wolf. He was sure this was what killed his mother, but he felt no anger. Just absolute terror for his twin sister. "Looking for this?" The canine practically cackled. She lied his sister down on the soft forest ground and started to stroke her back. After teasing him with another remark he didn't quite hear, she flipped her claw over and poked Laela. This was enough. Holitorn leaped at the wolf and tried to scratch her paw. Not very impressive but all he had time to do at the moment. Then he went and grabbed Laela's scruff, starting to pull away from the female.

Jasninon
He watched as his brother started searching and then turned around to face the monster. Oh Dio. He'd never seen a wolf that big. He watched it. Barely even noticing that it was carrying Laela until Holitorn went and attacked it.

Laela
Up high in the trees. She was there. And a butterfly came and picked her up. And she flew. Flew through the trees barely even moving. Then she realized a pain in her scruff that became more and more noticed. Ahead she saw her mother, drenched in something red. She could see the insides of her mom's body. Yet she was smiled at. And the smile made her mother crazy. She tried to scream but she couldn't. And she dropped to the ground. And her mother started to lick her. but her tongue was hard and cruel almost. Then the tongue shifted and poked her side so it hurt. Holitorn came and scratched the giant tongue. And tried to carry her. And she couldn't move or scream or do anything.[/i]

Beneath my claw, I could feel the soft alter in breathing that came before a creature woke. This young female was on her way out of slumber, but not yet fully concious. Daring a glance down, I saw her eyes slightly ajar, but still hazy with sleep. For a second, curiousity pricked as to what this seemed like when halfway between dream and reality. It took a second, but I reminded myself that each brain was different. What would be her altered reality, would be different from mine. Any prick of interest died, knowing the sights would be of no liking to me. Young Laela would see a world of pleasure, while I valued a world of pain.

Mild tingle came to my paw and I chanced a glance towards it. One of the males, the kinder scenting of the two, was attacking my paw. Now he grabbed my plaything and attempted to drag her further from my death filled presence. I choked out a chuckle before stepping a single bound forward, hovering over the cub once more. Now, though I was a pure blooded monster, my skin could feel pain on occasion. To avoid any of the hindering sense, I angled my now risen paw above the heroes skull, pointing it so as I brought it down, the metal cuff there would be the one to make contact. This cuff hit was made to harm, but not kill. Again, I was not yet hungry, though I could feel the beginning sense of it.

Though I looked as if I had full focus on this hero and his sister, a corner vision lay on the other brother. He stood without action, merely watching the scene unfold. Stupid. Coward. Uncaring. Or simply stunned. I tryed to analize his face, but abandoned that mission when I came to understand I must focus my full attention on him to do so. Though this other male couldn't kill, or even terribly harm my bulk, I did not want him making way with my toy. Not until I was done playing. This decided, I focused a majority back on Laela and her rescuer, but still kept a pin-needle of care on the other brother.

Holitorn
'Pull!' He thought. 'Harder!'. The desperation inside him was growing. He had to get her out. He had to. The monster was silent. Looking at him coldly. But he did not notice until he looked up and saw the metal cuff coming towards him. It smashed into his ear and sent him flying. The crimson blood dripped from his dome and stained the ground. The cub landed on the ground next to Jasninon. His head came in contact with a rock, and blackness.

Jasninon
The evil thing lifted up her paw. In the sunlight glinted a metal cuff. 'Oh no. Oh hell no!' Were the thoughts that raced to his mind. "WATCH OUT!" He cried, but too late. His brother was flying towards him. Blood oozed from Holitorn's ear. He looked over at the thing that he couldn't even come up with a word evil enough to call it. Enraged, he ran at it. Claws outstretched he built up speed. He jumped at the right time and aimed for her face, ready to scratch her fucking cursed eyeballs right out of that Ugly Diodammed face. He was sure she had seriously underestimated his skill. He had been on his own practically since birth. He knew how to fight. "GO TO HELL YOU MISERABLE BITCH!!!" He screeched at the last moment.

Laela
Pain. No. Holitorn. Awaking from her slumber, she was too shocked by the pain for the act of a child. She screamed like she never had before. She was underneath the paw of a monster. That's what caused her pain. Biting and scratching at the paw, she wriggled her way free and saw a strange cub attacking the beast. She had a sense of Deja Vu, but only sort of. He was Cursing. She normally would have cared, but the pain in her head was unbearable. Holitorn was lying over at the side of the small clearing. Her mother and Takoda and Holitorn were all lying there. All covered in blood. All good feelings of happiness and love were taken out of her. All that was left was anger an grief. Looking at the monster she was sure had killed all three of them, anger engulfed her. Lunging at it, she smacked into the chest and tried to sink her teeth into the flesh.

Care to dance with the devil?

"Fun." I played a smirk as I watched the cub bleed, and then the little girl escape. Her face contorted from joy to pain as she scanned the area, no doubt blaming me for the deaths of her adult comrads. Words, such foolish words, the male spoke as he lunged, drawing my attention back to him. He had announced, in a sense, his attack, proving his lack of knowledge for war.

And then the girl was attacking, silently butting my chest. I simply swerved my head to dodge the male, ignoring the female. With a quick lash, my paw as large (or maybe larger) than the females head, I pushed her aside and looked to the angered tom. "Rule number one, never shout an insult before the attack. You would have had me if not for you stupidly announcing your fury, thus drawing my attention to you." And then I sat down, a cold grin on my maw. My eyes were playful. I wasn't hungry, so this was a game to me, not survival. I didn't kill when I didn't have to. if they attacked and I killed, it was called self-defence. If I was hungry, it was keeping from starvation.

Turning one eye to the girl, my smile remained intact. "I know you think I killed your folks over there, but they were dead. I was returning you to your brothers here, when that dimwit youngin lunged. I pose no threat." I licked my maw, a drop of drool dripping to the soil. "Well, unless I get hungry." A sly gleam tinted my eyes. "Then, my little friends," I gazed to them both now, "I will be your worst, and final, nightmare." A laughed curled from my maw before I looked to the unconcious of the trio. "You want him to live, stop the bleeding. Lick it to create a sheild over it." My eyes landed on the two still standing. "I didn't do that to him, his landing did that. My cuff was such that it merely bumped him away, and then the rock did the rest. Show your fury to the rock."

Holitorn
It was so dark. He couldn't move. Pain. And terror for Laela. She was attacking the monster. She stood no chance. A sliver of light came into his vision. The light of the dappled wood outside his eyelids. A moan escaped his lips. His head throbbed.

Laela
She tasted blood on her lips. Even though it was unnoticed to the monster, she had gotten a pinprick of blood. It was enough to bring her to a screaming halt. She jumped away from it and tears streamed down her face. She was alone. Who was this young lion?
"Who are you?!?!" She screeched "Why is Mama and Puffball not moving?!? I want to go home!".
Even she did not know where that home was.
She wanted her brother to move. To get up. To do anything. Her heart was wrenched out of her. Running to Holitorn she cried, "MOVE!"

Jasninon
The fear ran through him as she tossed his attack aside coolly and aloofly. The thing told him what to do to save his brother and he was torn. Would she attack him when his back was turned? Finally he decided that if he wanted to take over Akando, he would have to have his brother. And he would have to be alive, meaning getting out of there as quickly as possible. Then his sister started screeching. Ugh. He needed her too though, as it was obvious that Holitorn couldn't function without her. "Come on Laela!" He called while running over to treat Holitorn. "I'll explain it to you but you have to come with me. ". He picked up Holitorn's scruff and proceeded to try to drag him further away, maybe to a tree where the monster couldn't get to them, to treat his brother's wounds.
