A smoke washed feline padded along silently underneath the cover of an old sycamore tree. Her lithe body weaving in and out of the way of the fallen branches, ferns and fauna that grew wildly and untouched by the hands of man as she entered an open field. Wild flowers and tall grass grew abundantly ready to hide her presence from any other wild creatures. Craving with blood lust like some kind of queer fetish.
Nahimana had only seen a few horrid deaths in her life. Like that of her father or those of complete strangers. They'd been slaughtered just for the heck of it. Something Nahi couldn't stand for.

Tivona Not long ago, I had a life. Not long ago, I had a heart to give. Not long ago, but still so far away.
The memories were clear, the tears still matting my black eyeliner. I wish I could say it was a nightmare that haunted me, simply a matter of fantasy. But my mother had taught me better than lies, she'd taught me to be above foolish fibs. Even if her heart lay against me, I knew I'd follow her lessons to the grave. Only my last breath would be the death of her teachings. And I still had many years ahead of me, I feared.
Danny, I miss you. I need a friend, and you're the only one I trust unconditionally. I knew my pleas were useless. We had a connection, Danny and I, but I had run away from him. He couldn't find me. Even if he could, Rhonda wouldn't let him. And he feared his mate, feared her rejection. He knew the great Dio hated when a mate leaves their lover, so he valued the mysterious baboon god and remained pure to his beloved. I had respected that at one point in time, but I wasn't sure about Dio anymore. How could so much evil travel a world run by such good?
My fallen gaze came to focus and I realized the land I trodded was no longer a dusty soil. These sands held life, both grasses and flowers. I knew these lands fairly well, and concluded this was the unclaimed terrain near Zonta, which was the soul holder of water in the lengthy dry spell. The sight of plantlife pleased me to an extent, but I couldn't hold too much pleasure. My lips had forgotten how to form an honest smile.
My mouth dropped open and I tensed before allowing myself to be consumed by the meadowy beauty. A cat lay within, hidden by the swaying grasses. I allowed a hint of fear to take grip, but that did not keep me still for very long. I'd interact without hesitation.
Trust no one. They could kill me. If I'm lucky.

The azure eyes of the strange hybrid she-cat looked around. She tasted the air and looked around. Flicking her orbs in all directions. By the stance she was in, flexing of her claws as they scratched at the earth beneath her and the bristling of her fur on her spine. There was another presence among the foliage. Cocking her ears, she tried to listen but the only sounds were the rythmic chirping of crickets and her light breathing.
Padding along deeper amongst the grass, where it was taller than her. She was now engulfed with the vegetation and nearly visible to anyone on a flat surface. Out of the blue the sent became stronger and she lowered her head. Hissing to herself as she approached, you couldn't be to careful around these parts. You couldn't trust anyone else but yourself and no one else. In her past she'd tried to trust others but she'd been lied to. Far to many times.
If your gonna make a girl a promise, make sure that you can keep it.
The sentence in her mind trailed off as she leaped forward. Landing on a rock just a few feet from the feline she scented. The cat had a brilliant golden coat and blue orbs just like her.

My paws lead me, my brain rather tired. It had been so long since I cared, and today would be not be the beginning of such antics. In order to fear this stranger, I had to fear death, and I did not. So few things left to live for, my young age meaning nothing. I'd been betrayed by loved ones. I'd been beaten with words. I knew the dark side, and death seemed a blessing.
A form appeareda short height above me, and I reached my tear blue gaze to meet one of equal aqua. The being looked to be an ocelot, but held some other genes in her pool of blood. It didn't matter what her breed was, though, so my look could be read as lazy or careless. I managed to force a smle for the female that had appeared, my own silent greeting before stepping back and sitting.
"Fine day we have here."
Routine. Speak, but do not talk. Talking leads to emotions. Emotions leads to love. Love leads to trust. Trust leads to pain.

The hybrids tail slowly swayed back in forth as she gathered herself up and got into a crouching position though she wasn't going to jump. It had been some time since her last experience with another feline.
"Fine day we have here."
She spoke casually. Nahimana looked up from where she sat slumped over. Her azure eyes flashing with curiosity. Why wasn't she attacking her? Most felines around here wouldn't think twice about slicing a cat like her in two.
"Quite." Nahi spoke. "What brings you to these parts?"

The opponent was crouched and seemed rather surprised by my action. I didn't blame her. The world was cold, and meeting one such as I who wouldn't attack, was not common, it seemed. I was equally surprised that my jugular remained intact. Utterly shocked, and somewhat disapointed.
Another day of life. Another day of pain. I pushed aside the disapointment and kept my rather calm gaze forward, a small smile being allowed to play my expression. It may not have been convincingly honest, but she was trying, the stranger had to give her some credit for that.
"Quite. What brings you to these parts?"
Was she intruding? Distrust straightened my maw, but it only lasted a second. Her teeth flashed a pleasant grin, deciding it was not worth the stress. Living life wanting to die, but also keeping ready to fight, was no way to carry on. Choose, you idiot. I knew that line was one I normally directed at Danny. He didn't know if he wanted his mate, or me, his daughter. Shaking away the distracting thought, she realized she didn't have an answer to give. Thinking quickly, she spoke with an unnerving kindness in her tone.
"These lands hold water, which is hard to come by in this drought. I am often seen here, and on the inner border of Zonta. Much cooler here, too." My voice was inviting, as if I welcome this stranger to stay here forever. I knew if she did, I would move. Even with death being a desire, I had a strong sense of self-preserverance (odd combinantion). I wouldn't--couldn't-- share lands with another being. "Say, you're probably thirsty, with this droubt being so long and unmerciful. Want me to show you the watering hole? Zonta does not mind our trespasses, knowing it's for our own survival." I paused, realizing this stranger did not know my name, so would be unlikely to trust me. I valued trust and wanted the world to trust me, even if I could never trust them. "My name is Tivona, by the way."
