Cave of TreesHave you ever walked late at night through a forest when you are first in love?
~ Conrad Veidt _________________________________________________________ A cheetah, a king cheetah. She walked about the land before her... and the land she walked along was a dark forest. In the day, the sun was blocked out by tree limbs and leaves. At night, a human wouldn't be able to see at all. But the cheetah liked to be here during the day, and during the day only. Haruna walked hopped from one mossy rock, to the next. With a small, dying creek running under her. Haruna leaped over to shore. Feeling the moss covered dirt under her paw pads. Everything was moss covered. All but newly growing flowers and trees. But this forest was ancient. It created myths with every new trees, more moss, and more animals to experience being here. Many deer and birds lived here happily. It was a cheerful place. Haruna walked a little ways, over near a very old tree, hundreds of years old perhaps. Haruna peered up the tree's mighty vast trunk. It was intimidating to see. If it were to fall.... Haruna shook her head. Getting the thought out of her mind. She kept walking. She stopped and stared at a large flower patch. The flowers were white, yellow, red, and purple. Bumble bees, wasps, and other inscts swarmed around them. Not a lot of bugs... maybe fifteen or twenty or so. Haruna slowly laid down in the new grass that grew around the flower patch. Haruna watched the peaceful bugs fly around the plants, often landing and going to the center of the flowers to investigate, and collect pollen. Haruna's sharp eyes observed... She liked watching them. Her amazing hearing heard the buzzing of the bees, love songs of many birds in the trees, and the small creek behind her. Haruna looked up at the trees, the sky was no where to be found. It was like a cave of trees almost. Haruna looked back down, and proceeded to watch the bugs.

Cave of Trees Malika_____________________________________________________________________ The leopardess had never been to such a place before. Even though the sun was shining, darkness shrouded this whole area like a blanket. The little light that did seep in through the twisting roof of branches above was welcome to Malika. She steadily made her way across the mossy ground, careful not to slip off from the wetter patches and sticking to the sides of trees. After gaining her confidence making huge leaps across a trickle of water, running below her, she picked up the pace.
Where was she going? She had absolutely no idea, not a target in mind, just to wander and view the beauty of the world in peace. Suddenly a scent came to her nostrils on a gentle breath of wind blowing through the trees around her. Malika raised her head and inhaled the air deeply. Cheetah Malika had nothing against cheetahs, and she had no right to be wary, as leopards where the larger cat. She could just imagine ones graceful form here, easily making there way across the forest floor.
Taking a few more steps, she scented the wonderful fragrance of flowers, not many, but enough to scent them from a good distance. She turned a tree, and saw the feline she had scented, sitting by a flower patch alive with insects, just watching them fluttering and buzzing among the petals, going about there business.
Once again, this was a cat that the leopard envied- she envied there speed. She pushed away her jealously with a flick of her head, and decided to try and move on, using the shelter of the nearby row of trees as cover. She walked up as silently as she could, trying to make her way past the streamlined body of the cheetah and get out of its range. She knew it was a dumb decision... but she would just have to tell the cheetah she was going about her ways in the nicest tone she could, if Malika was seen.Words: 335 Hope you dont mind me joining in??? ^^;
