.:Bhuvana:. A frown formed on my maw but I curtly nodded my head and looked towards Alec. "Yeah, I don't think the others would be fond of talking openly to one whom Dio has not specifically selected. Only Alia and I know you can be trusted." My orbs than danced to the leopardess once more, eager for orders. "How far is the border? When should we set off?" I prayed to the almighty Dio she had some idea as to atleased the direction Akando was.

Alia felt a little guilty that Alec would be left out, but she shook the feeling off. He would hear about it anyways. She looked at Bhuvana when she asked about the length of the trip. "It's south of us, but if we leave at sunhigh we should make it in good time." She paused, looking at the sky. The sun was still rising, but it would give the group plenty of time to prepare. "In the meantime I say we hunt and get some rest."
Alec hid his panic as the she-cats began to make plans. He cleared his throat to speak while he had the chance. "Wait. I'll travel with you. I can go off on my own while you two meet with the other Peace leaders." He looked anxiously between Alia and Bhuvana, waiting for one of them to reply.

.:Bhuvana:. I nodded my head in agreement, suddenly serious as I considered the great honor and responsibilty was being thrusted upon me. At Alec's statement, my orbs turned to him and narrowed in thought. I desired to give a shrill 'awesome!', but decided to remain serious. "I think that'd be fine. Dio's a fair fellow and wouldn't want you alone too far from the rest." I sent a quick glance towards Alia to see if she agreed.

Alia nodded in agreement. "Fair enough. Now let's hunt. I'll leave you ocelots to hunt on your own, because I've got my own techniques and don't want to interfere with you guys." She cast a guilty glance at Bhuvana, remembering Dio's request to be her caretaker. Did the ocelot know how to hunt? Surely she did, if not she may not be here. To her relief, Alec spoke up.
"Come on, Bhu. I've got a cool move I want to show you!" Alec mewed enthusiastically. He had made it up himself, and was eager to show off to his new friend. The young ocelot barely realized he didn't really intend to show off, but impress.

.:Bhuvana:. The serious stature I was trying so hard to hold crumbled at the suggestion and then Alec's excited mew. I knew a little about hunting, enough so that I had survived on my own for some time, but learning something new would be a great help. Not to mention, I was secretly awed that Alec had created a successful move on his own. My mind buzzed; I couldn't wait to see.
Sending a quick glance towards Alia, I have a greatful smile in responce to her guilty glance. I wasn't entirely sure what that glance had been about, but I could only reasure. This female was doing so much for me now, I couldn't bare to see her regret anything. "We'll meet back here?" I questioned before taking a small step towards Alec, reading to dash away as soon as Alia agreed. I enjoyed having the leopardess around, but for some odd reason, I was fascinated at the thought of being alone with the male.

Alia let out a barely audible sigh, glad that Bhuvana didn't seem to mind. She nodded in response to the ocelot's question. "Sounds good." She was secretly glad, she would have better luck catching a meal on her own. She could use her own leopard techniques without having to worry about breaking them down to meet Bhuvana's level.
"Come on!" Alec urged again, "The more time we have, the better!" He was literally quivering in excitement. He was the typical male, eager to have someone to impress. But it was also alone time with Bhuvana, and he had a profound fondness for her. He didn't quite realize that these feelings meaned he had a crush.

.:Bhuvana:. I danced away, just barely giving Alia time to answer. I was not running at full speed, but was fast enough to put a good distance between myself and the leopardess in only a few moments. It was not long before I scented some creature--I was not yet skilled enough to tell each prey scent from another--and I dropped into crouch. I crept slowly through some brambles before I was upon a young hare. It froze when it saw me, which was a very bad mistake. I mercifully lunged forward and snapped its neck before it could even give a squeal of alarm. I pitied the poor creatures mother for a moment, thanking the kit for giving his lif for me and thanking its mother for giving up her son.

((Hmmm....I thought I already replied to this...I guess that concludes I'm going crazy. ^^))
Alec grinned at Alia before bounding off after Bhuvana. He caught up in time to watch her make her kill. He nodded in compliment. "Good catch." He mewed, eyeing the meal. He tore his eyes away from Bhuvana, searching the skies. Alec planned on showing her how to catch birds. They were a little trickier, but they tasted delicious.

.:Bhuvana:. I caught the compliment as I dropped my kill to swipe some earth over it's body. I grinned towards the male, his voice music to my ears, as his scent was to my glands. "Thanks." I stated simply before catching his gaze towards the sky. I opened my mouth in surprise, narrowing my gaze. "You ain't telling me with that gaze that you're gonna catch a bird, are ya?" I could barely get the question out. I'd never had bird before.

"That's exactly what I was thinking." Alec replied, a grin on his face. "Ever had bird before? Besides the feathers it's quite a delicacy." He kept his eyes on the sky, knowing that any minute a bird could fly overhead. He made no move to hide, just crouched on the ground, his eyes glued to the air above. Even if a bird saw him, it wouldn't suspect his attack. Alec's tail twitched in excitement, barely disguising his impatience.
Finally a small bird was fluttering his way, and Alec tensed even more, his muscles tight. Just before the bird flew above him, Alec sprang straight up. His legs, strong from climbing, were able to push him quite a few feet up. Front paws out stretched and claws sheathed, Alec caught the bird and landed nimbly on the ground. He quickly ended its life, glancing at Bhuvana to see what she thought of his hunting technique.

.:Bhuvana:. I stood with my mouth agape as the hunt was done so cleanly. I wish to applaud and shower in praise, but I could find no words to express my admiration. Instead I stared at the kill like a deer in a monsters sunbeams (headlights). Finally I managed to mutter one word. "Wow..."

Alec grinned at Bhuvana's stunned expression and obvious admiration. He was pleased that the she-cat felt that way. He covered the bird with needles on the ground, and padded closer to Bhuvana. "Do you want to try?" Alec asked, his brown eyes lit up with energy and amusement. [/color][/blockquote]

.:Bhuvana:. At his offer, I looked to the sky. Then, eyes wide, my gaze traveled to him. "I could never! I don't know how to catch even ground critters. No one ever taught me." My mind drifted to Alia, wondering if the leopardess would teach me some moves. Focusing back on the male, I wiped the disbelief from my gaze. Maybe if I had hi teach me this one move, I could be an easier pupil for Alia. "Actually....maybe I would like to try." My orbs drifted to the sky, wondering if the fellow cub would instruct me in some way. My stomach felt awkward as I became aware of how close Alec was. I blamed the feeling on hunger, though something told me that was not the reason.

Alec's grin stretched even wider at Bhuvana's agreement to try. "Great!" He quickly turned and placed himself next to her, his pelt slightly brushing hers. The touch was warm, but the male forced himself to ignore his sudden rush of feelings.
"Okay, you've got to keep your eyes on the sky, and stay crouched. Try not to relax, I know it can feel long, but it's really not. Since the weather's so nice, birds will be flying overhead often." He paused, letting that sink in before going on. "Now the trick is to leap before the bird is even before you. That way you reach it when it flys above you. Then just grab it and kill."

.:Bhuvana:. I focused my eyes to the sky as instructed, body tense for more reason then just the simple fact that Alec had said to do so. His scent was like a flower to me, his touch like the gentle breeze. I knew sme about love, but I dismissed that thought before I even fully let it sink in. I mean, this tom had been with me for a short time now and one sure thing I knew about the strong emotion of love was that it took time to evolve. Usually. Sometimes, I heard, that Dio picks two to be together before one--or both-- are even born. But why should I think I was special enough to be one of those lucky gals with a decided fate? I remembered, then, that I was one of Dio's chosen ones so maybe...
I cursed as I realized my mind had wandered. A bird was already close above my head and I knew it was a lost cause, but I couldn't help but try. Lunging full strength into the air, I pricked the bird with one toe, but nothing more. It flew away, barely noticing my touch. Landing agily, I glanced to Alec, my skin hot. "I, uh, was thinking. Attention span of a squirrel." I mocked myself, not daring to tell Alec what had actually been on my mind. What would be think of me if I said I had been thinking about him?
